Leave Before the Lights Come On
So is it now the artic guy on the planet competition, in a blast from nowhere a 5 year old web article made it into the top 10 for the keywords, “coolest guy on the planet” on Google – that guy is Alex Turner and is the lead singer of the Artic Monkeys (who incidentally I don’t mind).
Is Alex bored, does he think that he does not look good on the dance floor, does he want to join the sad masses of coolest guy wannabees.
Well I think not, the article was published by the UK newspaper, The Independent with a publication date of November 2005, the headline was:
“He’s the coolest man on the planet, according to the NME. So who, exactly, is Alex Turner?”
So in theory it shouldn’t rank that high as it doesn’t contain “guy” but merely a man, so how does it blast into the top ten in such a blaze? well the independent.co.uk will carry a big reputation and quality factors with the search engines. On inspection the site’s overall Page Rank is 9 which is huge, however the actual page in question has a page rank of 2 which is not so huge.
I checked for recent comments but there is only one, my one – I imagine the Independent web site was recently re-indexed on Google including content that was unmodified and got rankings – such is the power of the mighty newspaper and media.
The fact that there is a “coolest man on the planet” list is pretty cool too.
For those of you that care here it is:
The Cool List

Anyway now it is in and out of the top 10 in Google floating between 10 and 17, maybe Alex needs to get some more quality backlinks, and poor Russell may lose his tenth spot.
