Importance of getting higher PageRank in Google

All of a sudden my site jumped from a Google PageRank of  0 to 3 which I think is a fantastic thing especially for Google rankings. The site has broken the Top 10 in Bing and Yahoo for quite a while but it’s a tougher job to crack Google, to date have reached No.3 in Yahoo and No.7 in Bing – as for Google it’s been sitting between 12 and 15 for a longtime.

Then Google has deemed coolestguyplanet.net with authority and relevance for the keywords “coolest guy on the planet” and have gone from a page rank of 0 to 3. The site has been active for approx 6 months. Following this the site pushed up one notch to No.11 the highest position on Google to date.

PageRank has algorithms and theories not for the faint hearted and range from 0 to 10 – getting over 4 is impressive and gives the site a boost in relevance and popularity – something next on the task list as well as still breaking into the Google Top 10, a box still for me to tick!

How you move up in PageRank and then subsequently Position is your quality relevant content on your site coupled with backlinks from similar web sites to your content – and if you can get the anchor text right on those backlinks you are achieving your goal – and finally the higher PageRank those external sites that are backlinking to yours will get you more Google respect!
